Wood is an invaluable resource that plays a vital role in our daily lives, from building homes to crafting furniture. Yet, the wood is often discarded when items like fences, tables, and structures eventually break or wear out. Many don’t realize that wood can be recycled, transforming waste into valuable resources.
The process starts with collecting and sorting wood from sources like construction sites, demolition projects, and discarded furniture. Once gathered, wood waste heads to a recycling facility, where it is shredded and ground into manageable pieces. Next, these wood chips pass through screening machines to sort them by size; oversized pieces are further shredded until they meet the necessary specifications.
For products requiring finer material, the wood is granulated into smaller particles, which can be repurposed for items such as particleboard, mulch, animal bedding, and biofuel. Finally, the granulated wood undergoes manufacturing to create various products like pallets, composite decking, furniture, and wood pellets for fuel.
